COVID-19 has often been spoken about as bringing about a 'new normal'. Under conditions of lockdown our reliance on technology for human interaction has increased dramatically. Is it possible that the present pandemic will catapult us into a new world of artificial intelligence? And how will this play out in a society as unequal in resources as South Africa? Professor Tshilidzi Marwala and Mr Nanda Padayachee discuss these questions of the hour.
