EL CAMINO DE SANTIAGO: WALKING THE WAY OF ST JAMES

This lecture will cover the history of the El Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and various customs and ceremonies associated with it. The spiritual aspects of the walk will be discussed, as will the available routes. Advice on both physical and spiritual preparation will be supplied. Participants will find out more about Santiago de Compostela the city, about life on the Way, and the experience of staying in pilgrim’s accommodation known as albergues. Finally, the lecture will cover some of the life lessons to be learned on the pilgrimage.
